I have been in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years where my journey began with teaching aerobics before moving on to gym work and personal training, massage therapy, nutrition, run coaching and yoga. I will always strive to keep learning, I love sharing my knowledge, and I hope you find something here for you. Whatever your health goals, I look forward to joining you on your journey.
Losing weight and gaining muscle can be challenging and my goal is to help you overcome the hurdles to reach your goal. With support and mentoring throughout the process, an individualised fitness plan that takes into account your lifestyle is key to achieving your objectives.
Whether your aim is to 'complete' or 'compete' in your chosen race, having a running coach on hand to guide you is invaluable. A structured training plan, and just as importantly coaching support, is a great way to make the most of all the hours you are putting into your training.
You don't have to be bendy to do yoga, but it does teach you how to bend and not break. It's not just about touching your toes or standing on your head, it's about understanding the connection between your body and your mind, all linked by the breath. Your yoga journey can start with the purpose of increasing your flexibility, but you will come away from your mat with much more than that.
A cornerstone of optimum health is your diet, and no amount of exercise will not make up for a poor diet. Small tweaks or a dietary overhaul, if needed, can improve overall vitality, help you lose or gain weight and improve sporting performance.
To bring balance to your life, it is just as important to take time to rest and rejuvenate. We are becoming a nation of human 'doings' not human 'beings' even if that is spending hours on social media. Therapeutic massage has many benefits including eliminating general aches and pains, such as headaches and backache from spending too much time on our phones and devices, or as an aid to speeding up recovery from exercise.
I recently came across the term Ikigai which beautifully sums up my attitude to my work life. Ikigai is a Japanese philosophy or concept that means 'a reason for being' and to discover your ikigai, you find what you're most passionate about and then find the medium through which to express that passion. I have found my ikigai in my work in health and wellness.
Life is all about balance.
